Rotary Unions
are self-contained and self-supporting rotary
seals used to transfer fluids such as steam,
water air or oil, to and from rotating machinery.
Standard units are of steel and
iron construction with specials available
in, for example, stainless steel and nickel
alloys for chemically aggresive fluids or
food quality applications.
The range of standard models in three basic
types for single or dual flow are available
with a choice of ball bearings for temperatures
up to 160 degrees celsius and with plain
cylindrical carbon bearings for temperatures
of 100 degrees celsius up to 300 degrees
celsius. Pressure range is 70 bar with rotational
speeds up to 5000 rpm. In many instances
it is possible to exceed these conditions
after first consulting the Filton technical
department for advice.
