A swivel joint is primarily for use on oscillating shafts, but is also suitable for transfering fluids to and from slowly rotating shafts.

Designs vary from simple knuckle joints, without independant bearings to models containing double row ball bearings for heavier duty.

Filton swivel joints are available from 1/4" to 2" BSP with a single or double flow facility for a pressure range of 740mm of mercury vacuum to 400 bar. Sealing is created by using elastomeric 'O' ring seals in the low duty models and PTFE seals in the heavy duty models.
When the working conditions are beyond the limitations of standard swivel joints, Filton can design and manufacture swivel joints to meet customers specific requirements. These can be multiport, overshaft or for axial connection and seals are available in a range of materials.
